My office has handled several thousand Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 Bankruptcy cases over the past thirty years which is more than  any other attorney in Southeastern Ohio in recent years.  My office has been a leader in low-cost, affordable bankruptcies in Southeastern Ohio!    We strive to keep our prices affordable for you!  We are one of the most affordable, if not the most affordable bankruptcy attorney in Zanesville!

One of many false rumors about bankruptcy is that the Court takes your property.  This is NOT true.  You can keep your property  in a Chapter 7 and a Chapter 13 bankruptcy.  Every Debtor is entitled to exemptions that protect various items that you own.  It is very  rare that a Debtor's property is worth more than what is allowed by the exemptions.  In that rare case, the Debtor can choose to file a  Chapter 13 to further protect that item.

*There are two types of bankruptcies for Individuals.

     1.  Chapter 7 relieves you from virtually all debts.  (You can keep certain debts, such as a house and/or vehicle payment.)  For more details

     2.  Chapter 13 is a payment plan where you pay the Court and the Court pays the creditors.  Plan payments are based specifically on that  particular person’s situation.  In Chapter 13, you can pay as low as 1% of your unsecured debts, such as credit cards, and not be liable for  the remaining balance.  For more details, Chapter 13 bankruptcy information, and information on fees, click

*Why is bankruptcy a better alternative than Credit Counseling Programs for a lot of people?

Credit Counseling Programs do not force creditors/debt collectors to stop collection activities, such as filing lawsuits and garnishments against  you.  Creditors/debt collectors are also not required to participate in these programs.
